About Us
Founded in July 2018 by Executive Director Roshell Powdar, Pink Lily is a non-profit organization committed to the upliftment of single mothers and young girls. By providing single mothers with aid in the form of: resume building, interview training, interview attire, and job search assistance, Pink Lily prepares the community we serve for a plethora of opportunities available to them. In addition to career-building services, Pink Lily offers parenting classes & support groups which build character amongst single mothers. To supplement the work we do with single mothers, Pink Lily also offers mentoring services for young girls and women between the ages of 6 and 19, as well as various workshops for mothers and their daughters. And to engage the community as whole, Pink Lily organizes annual Thanksgiving dinners, toy drives, and Back to School give-a-way events. By providing these stepping stones, Pink Lily is able to alleviate some of the burdens and stigmas associated with single motherhood, creating positive change in both lives and communities.

The Way
Like Knowing they wanted to see us broken
Startled that we can bare the lash, too
Though it shouldn't be a
suprise,
We take it all and still smile.
Stressed and manipulated day by day
Still, somehow, in Angelou style
We rise.
High to the sky
Like the stars in the night,
Broken pieces of the sun
From which we are made of to enlighten
We see those who choose to never understand
And still extend a helping hand,
knowing the world is not so small,
But with our hearts so big
We still try to save them all.
Even if the favor is not returned,
Holding onto the bridges they've decided to burn
We rest and resist in power,
They forget they'll have to cross back someday.
Saying all of this to say
That we know those stray
But can never go too far away.
For we are the source
No matter the course
No matter the destination,
The women are the way.
